FAQ

FDM printers melt plastic filament to build parts — affordable, strong, and great for functional objects. Resin printers cure liquid resin with UV light for far finer detail and smoother surfaces — ideal for miniatures and jewelry. LONGER makes both.

For FDM, the LK5 PRO is the community favorite: largely pre-assembled, reliable, with a large 300×300×400mm build volume. For resin, the Orange 10 or Orange 4K paired with water washable resin makes an easy start.

The LK10 Plus offers a 320×320×400mm build volume — big enough for helmets, vases, and large functional parts in one piece — one of the best large-format values in its class.

FDM models print PLA, ABS, TPU, and PETG filament; resin models use 405nm UV resin including water washable and standard types. LONGER sells its own filament and resin, and third-party materials are fully supported.

It’s strongly recommended. Fresh resin prints must be washed of uncured resin and then UV-cured to full hardness — a wash & cure station automates both steps cleanly and consistently instead of messy manual buckets and sunlight.

For FDM: free Cura and OrcaSlicer, with LONGER profiles available. For resin: Chitubox and Lychee Slicer. All are beginner-friendly with large tutorial communities.

FDM is very economical — a 1KG PLA spool costs little and produces dozens of prints. Resin costs more per part but remains inexpensive for small, detailed items. Electricity use for either type is modest.

The LK series FDM printers are built on open-source hardware, giving you community firmware, printable mods, and upgrades — plus official upgrade kits like dual Z-axis and auto-leveling from LONGER.

LONGER printers include an official warranty and lifetime technical support, with a full catalog of genuine spare parts — nozzles, beds, boards, screens, FEP film — readily available in the official store.

LONGER ships from regional warehouses with fast, free shipping on orders over $49 in the US and EU, so most customers receive their printer within days rather than weeks.
