Installing the correct driver is an important step before connecting your Longer laser engraver to your computer. If the required driver is missing or installed incorrectly, software such as LightBurn, LaserGRBL, or LaserBurn may not detect the machine.

This guide explains how to check whether the CH340 driver is installed and how to install it on Windows and macOS. You'll also learn how to verify that the driver is working correctly after installation.

Conclusion

Installing the correct CH340 driver helps your computer communicate with your Longer laser engraver. After installation, verify that the driver is recognized before connecting your machine in LightBurn, LaserGRBL, or LaserBurn.

If your computer still cannot detect the engraver, check that the USB cable is connected properly and confirm that the driver was installed successfully. For macOS, make sure the required security permissions have been enabled if prompted.

Using the correct driver and following the recommended installation steps can help prevent connection issues and ensure reliable communication between your computer and the laser engraver.
