The Longer Studio App provides four connection methods to establish communication between the app and the ePrint printer:

  • Network Config
  • QR Network Setup
  • IP Direct Connect
  • Device Scan

If you do not need to connect a device immediately, tap “Switch to Workspace” at the bottom of the page to enter the design workspace. You can complete your design first and connect the ePrint printer later.

Open the Longer Studio App and enter the main interface. Tap the “+” icon to open the Select Device page, then select your ePrint model.

Note: When the system displays “Allow Longer Studio to use your location?”, select “Allow While Using App”. Otherwise, the app may not be able to detect the ePrint printer’s Wi-Fi signal.

1. Bluetooth Connection / Wi-Fi Setup (Recommended for New Devices)

Applicable scenarios:

New ePrint printers or devices that have not completed network configuration. Bluetooth helps connect the printer to your local Wi-Fi network.

Steps:

  1. On the Connection Options page, select Network Config.
  2. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone. Turn on the ePrint printer and enter network configuration mode.
  3. The Longer Studio App searches for available devices through Bluetooth. Select your ePrint printer from the device list.
  4. After the printer receives the Wi-Fi information, it automatically connects to the network. Select the detected device and tap “Connect” to establish communication.
  5. After a successful connection, the device IP address will be saved automatically. You can use IP Direct Connect for faster reconnection next time.

2. QR Network Setup

Applicable scenarios:

Quickly complete network configuration by scanning the printer’s QR code.

Steps:

  1. On the Connection Options page, select QR Network Setup.
  2. Find the QR code on the back of the printer or on the device label.
  3. Use the Longer Studio App to scan the QR code. The app will automatically complete the network configuration process.
  4. Select your ePrint model from the scan results and tap “Connect” to complete the connection.

3. Device Scan (Quick Connection on the Same Local Network)

Applicable scenarios:

The ePrint printer has already completed network configuration, and your phone and printer are connected to the same router network.

Steps:

  1. On the Connection Options page, select Device Scan.
  2. Make sure your phone and ePrint printer are connected to the same local network.
  3. The Longer Studio App automatically scans all available printing devices on the network and displays the device names.
  4. Select your ePrint model from the scan results and tap “Connect” to complete the connection.
  5. If no device is found after scanning:
    • Check whether the printer is powered on.
    • Make sure the phone and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Restart the printer and scan again.

4. IP Direct Connect

Applicable scenarios:

Use this method when you know the printer’s IP address, when multiple devices are connected on the same office network, or when Device Scan cannot find the printer.

Steps:

  1. On the Connection Options page, select IP Direct Connect.
  2. Check the ePrint printer to find its assigned IP address.
  3. Enter the complete IP address in the app (for example: 192.168.0.1).
  4. Tap “Connect”. The app will establish communication with the printer through the local network.
  5. If the connection fails:
    • Check that the IP address is entered correctly.
    • Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the network.

5. After Connecting the ePrint Printer

After the connection is successful, the app will display “Device Connected” and automatically return to the homepage.

A prompt for Ink Channel Configuration will appear. Select the configuration that matches your ePrint printer.

From the homepage, you can view:

  • Device status
  • Ink level information
  • Print Test
  • Printhead Clean
  • Other printer functions

After connecting the printer, we recommend performing a Print Test first. This helps confirm that the device communication is working properly and that ink output from the printhead is even before starting your printing tasks.

Disconnect or Reconnect a Device

After the device is connected, you can tap “Connected” on the main interface to disconnect the printer.

If the device is disconnected and you need to reconnect:

  1. Tap the “+” icon on the main interface.
  2. Enter My Devices.
  3. Select your ePrint printer to reconnect.

If you need to leave the app during a printing task, we recommend enabling the Auto Connect feature. Once enabled, the app will automatically reconnect to the last used device when you open it again, eliminating the need for manual reconnection.
