The linear encoder is responsible for accurate motion control of the printhead on the Longer ePrint UV printer. If it fails, you may experience positioning errors or unstable printing.

This guide provides the official replacement steps for Replacing the Linear Encode. Before starting, power off and unplug the printer, and work in a clean, stable environment.

1. Remove ePrint cover

Turn off the machine's power switch and unplug the power adapter. Ensure the device is completely powered off. Place the device on a stable work surface. Use a 1.5mm Allen key to remove the 12 screws securing the underside cover of the ePrint machine and remove the cover.

2. Remove the printhead cover

Position the printhead to the center and use a 1.5mm Allen key to loosen the two screws on each side of the printhead (note that you only need to loosen the screws, do not remove them). After loosening, remove the printhead cover directly.

3. Use a 1.5mm Allen key to remove the encoder retainer and take it out.

4.Remove the Old Encoder and Install the New Encoder

After removing the two screws on the left and right sides of the encoder and taking out the old encoder, install the new encoder onto the mounting bracket.

Note: The old linear encoder strip must be within the gap in the encoder and must not touch the grating. If it touches the old linear encoder strip, it may be damaged. This can be avoided by adjusting the front and rear position of the encoder.

5. Unplug the old encoder's port and plug it into the new encoder's terminal.

6. Install the removed components

Reinstall the encoder mounting hardware in its original position and tighten the screws using a 1.5mm Allen key. Reinstall the printhead cover and ePrint machine cover, plug back in the power adapter and turn on the machine to check if the encoder is working properly.

Final Notes

The linear encoder must be installed correctly to ensure stable printhead movement and accurate printing on the Longer ePrint.
